As co-founder and former CEO of the iconic Zaxby’s restaurant brand, Zach helped transform a single idea into a multi-billion-dollar empire that continues to enrich lives across the nation. Zaxby’s, now backed by Goldman Sachs’ private equity acquisition in 2020, has grown into a beloved chain with bold plans for national and international expansion. Though Zach now serves as Chairman of the Board, his journey is far from over.
In fact, after decades of driving Zaxby’s mission of “enriching lives, one person at a time,” Zach has redirected his focus towards empowering underserved communities through the McLeroy Family Foundation. This foundation is his personal passion project, designed to give back through strategic partnerships and financial contributions. With a strong focus on women, children, veterans, and the fight against homelessness, Zach is committed to increasing economic mobility and instilling hope for those who need it most.
Born and raised in Athens, Georgia, Zach is deeply connected to the community that nurtured his success. Now living in the Atlanta area, he remains rooted in the values that shaped him.
